Publicity It is so very important
You've got a nice little boozer. You want to increase your turnover. You have things planned that you want to promote, There are many ways to promote an event . The local newspaper being one of them but before the switch board puts you through to the advertising department ask to speak to editorial . If you are promoting an event at your pub which has a news element most local newspapers will usually do a deal with you whereby if you advertise with them they will provide coverage of your promotion. If you can arrange for a reporter and/or cameraman to come to the event (which is not so likely these days.) that will be a bonus. chances are that your local paper won't have anyone available. However, if you offer to report the event for them and provide them with press quality photographs there is a very good chance your local paper will feature your pub successfully engaged in yet another popular event. Thus giving the public the right impression. "Your pub is the place where its all happening". Although I mentioned talking to your local newspaper you can equally use the same technique when talking to your local commercial radio station and don't forget the BBC local radio stations. The BBC local radio stations don't of course take advertising but if you are a community pub and are putting on an event it is normally very easy to get yourself on air either via the phone or by going down to the studio. If you do require help please contact us we can put you in touch with professionals who can help you. Don't forget to talk to My little BOOZER dot Com about having a Pro-Active presence on the internet. Website sites do not have to cost you thousands of pounds we can come up with a fully managed website for as little as £25 per month.
