The Online Guide to Pubs, Hotels,Restaurants, & Clubs of The British Isles

I moved into the village I call home over twenty five years ago. I choose to live in Brinklow Warwickshire because it had four of the best pubs in the Midlands and two of the best live music venues. Sadly one of the four pubs is no longer with us as it became victims of developers who eagarly eyed up the pubs huge carpark as ripe for building houses on. Brinkow has however faired better than other nearby villages where pubs have disappeared under the bulldozer . Stretton under fosse once had three pubs one closed many years ago The Union Jack and The Railway closed down in the passed 5 years . At nearby Pailton two of the three pubs are no longer with us The Plough Inn and The Fox having fallen victim to the developers desire to build. But lets be honest Who wants to buy a house in a village with no pub. To be fair to Pailton the village is still well served by the remaining village pub The White Lion Inn and the Pailton Exservices club. But what about the poor villagers of Stretton under fosse who have a mile and a half walk to their nearest pub. Well they should have looked after their village pub. Any way if you take my advice the sensible way to approuch to buying a home is to find the pub (or pubs) you want to be your local and then ask the Landlord to put up a small poster on the pubs notice board asking for people with houses for sale to contact you. Goto the Poster Page to down load an official My Little Boozer House Wanted poster.
